999 Horse Head Fiddlers

With the lead up to Naadam and to celebrate Mongol Ger Day a concert was held in Sukhbaatar Square which is the central square in the heart of the city. Nine Hundred and ninety nine morin huurs (Horse Head Fiddle Players) played for the delighted on lookers. It was a sight to see and hear, as the traditional music was heard across the square. The concert didn't go for very long but was worth coming along to hear. Mongolia has many traditional arts and one that has always been a favourite of mine is listing to the horse head fiddle being played and to see so many being played at once was just amazing.
